Lupita Nyong’o has escaped Oscar’s curse – the popular lore states that after a win, an actor’s /actress’ output diminishes – so far at least, 2014 and 2015 will be busy years for her.
She’s been cast in J.J. Abrahms’ remake of the fabled Star Wars franchise. To add to her slate there is a role in the children’s book the Jungle Book, which also stars red hot Idris Elba and Scarlett Johansson.
Next up is Southpaw with Rachel McAdams and Jake Gyllenhaal, a film about a struggling boxer. To fill out her 2015 schedule, Nyong’o is bringing to the big screen, Americanah, with the help of her Twelve Years a slave co-star, Brad Pitt’s Plan B production studio.
