Wealthy Black People Should Invest in Black Movies

Black millionaires and billionaires should invest more aggressively into minority movies. Getting funds for socially conscious, independent films, featuring people from the black diasporas is phenomenally hard.

Hollywood studios have no problems investing in comedies or dramas with major stars like Eddie Murphy or Denzel Washington. In the meantime, other wonderful film ideas languish on back lots in Los Angeles.

Indie and non-mainstream film creators as whole find it hard to find investors. Movie backers are ignoring the major success of previous slow burn gems, such as Precious and Beast of the Southern Wild.

If more well healed black individulas, put some of their wealth into non-traditional Hollywood fares, classics like Precious or Beast of the Southern Wild will be more plentiful. The return on investment can pay of enormously.
