Steve Harvey’s book and movie Think like a man took the whole movie industry by surprise. It gave a needed boost to the careers of many of its actors.
Meagan Good, one of the most beautiful actresses working, shined brightly in the film. The talented screen veteran may not have stole the show, but held her own amongst a stellar cast.
Meagan’s had a steady work schedule for the past two years on t.v. – appearing in Harry’s Law, Californication, Bet tv’s The game. On the big screen she’s starred in both mid to lower budget films, with varying successes.
Good’s most successful parts in film came in 2011’s Jumping the Broom ($6.6 million budget, $38 million worldwide take). The (even) lower budget films did poorly both critically and financially – case in point, 2011’s Video Girl.
Her work in the ensemble romantic comedy Think like a man, has definitely put her and fellow actors in the limelight. The film’s tally ($97 million worldwide, with a $12 million budget) surprised everyone and could usher in a new chapter in black films.
Many in Hollywood, including us at Greysaber (read the story, Hollywood hurting Steve harvey’s, Think like a man), believe the film could have at least, in theory, crossed that important $100 million milestone. Halfway through the film’s theatrical run, a lot of the movie’s cinemas were taken away and given to newer films. Many of them bombed, spectacularly.
With the renewed bright light on her career Meagan should have an even busier 2013. Her Imdb.com page has virtually no new work lined up, but she’s always played her cards close to her chest.
